Title: Account Manager

Company/Organization: Key Personnel

Why do you love your job? Working at Key for 21 years has provided me the opportunity to work with individuals of many different types of personalities. Also it is a busy job. As a high-energy person, that stimulus is very positive.

Which Leadership Tulsa program did you participate in and which class? I was never in a position to participate in the Adult Program. Over the years I had served on boards that had interns and graduates of Leadership Tulsa and witnessed the positive impact they had on the organizations for which they served. Serving as Chairman of the Adult Class Committee afforded me the opportunity to participate to some degree in the Flag Ship program and that was a very educational opportunity for me.

Have you ever served the LT board or a committee? When I was asked to serve on the Board of Directors I could not say yes fast enough. I knew it would be a growing and learning experience. I also served on the Executive committee and participated in decisions that continue to bring positive impact to the organization.

What is the best LT lunch or class meeting that you ever attended? Why? The best class meeting was the Tulsa Downtown tour. Being of Indian heritage I appreciated Dr. Hugh Foley’s talk on the History of the Native People. I also was very interested in the History of Greenwood, Black Wall Street. Why? Even though I grew up in Tulsa I did not know until I was grown  anything about Black Wall Street and the riot. The best lunch was when Jim Norton from Down Town Unlimited spoke about all the buildings downtown that were being bought and the exciting future growth in our downtown sector.

How has LT played a part in your professional development? Working with such bright, forward thinking professionals, I have gained an attitude of always knowing no matter the situation a solution can be found.

What’s your favorite thing to do outside of work? May not sound exciting but I love to read both fiction and nonfiction.

What’s your favorite vacation spot? National Parks. I have been to several and hunger to go to them all. Whether that is a realistic goal or not does not matter because I can always hope I will succeed. They all were set aside for a specific reason and I love to see why.

Who is your favorite musical artist? Really do not have a favorite.

What’s your favorite movie? I just love movies unless they are slap stick type humor. The list of favorites is long and getting longer.

What’s your favorite restaurant? There is another long list. I am a “foodie” and always looking for interesting cuisine. I also love to “mess” around in my own kitchen as well.

Complete the following: The future of our city…has great potential. The foundation is here and leaders are always willing to push Tulsans to keep looking to the future. That attitude should keep our city viable.

What advice would you give to young professionals? Ask questions about how the job can be done better, stay current an open to new technology, always be sure family and friends are a high priority and ALWAYS give back to the community.
